Project Android One Explained

Android One:

Android one is the project by Google for the people who can't afford high end smartphones. Google's Android division's head SUNDAR PICHAI is behind this project aiming to give a better experience to low end smartphone users. Google's Project Android One is not so successful as we see less popularity and less sales but Google is not going to give up. These phones have key specifications that are standard set by Google to be an Android One handset. The key specs are actually same in all Android One Smartphones released till date. These key specs are just like a mid ranger phone. But the performance is tested by Google with it's latest Android OS version. These smartphones are tested by Google and they issued them certificate of Android One.

 Android One Key Specs:

  • 4.5” FWVGA display
  • Cortex A7 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor

IDEA behid Android One:

The idea behind Android one smartphones is that Google partnered with major OEMs like HTC, Lenovo and Huwaei and other local market competitors like (Micromax, Spice, Karbonn)(India) and now (Qmobile) and other manufacturers. They have to fulfill hardware requirements given by Google to launch an Android One smartphone Powered by Google's latest Android OS. And these requirements are the Key specs for Android One.
The Android One program is just like Nexus program. These smartphones will receive Official Software updates from Google just like Nexus devices. These smartphones are cheaper, promised to be less than US $100.

Why should we care?:

The question is why should we care about this product?
Well why everyone cared about Nexus. Because it is running on latest version of Pure Android powered and handled by Google. The name is Google we care about. The quality of service and support. The main reason that why Google never failed is that they Never give up. The same thing they are doing with Android One.
